Cutting-Edge Technology Partnerships: Our Trusted Vendors and Innovative Solutions.

Introduction

As the demand for reliable connectivity with high bandwidths continues to soar, Bondix Intelligence (hereinafter referred to as Bondix) has pioneered the development of its Simple Aggregation of Networks (S.A.NE) software. Designed to ensure dependable connectivity across various applications such as voice, video, and data transmission, S.A.NE is tailored for both mobile and stationary deployments.

This innovative software solution can seamlessly integrate into diverse platforms, facilitating WAN aggregation functions. By implementing bonding, load balancing, and seamless handover across different WAN interfaces and providers, S.A.NE guarantees a resilient connection that keeps you online without interruption.

Application

In scenarios where increased throughput or enhanced access to remote applications is essential, leveraging multiple connections becomes imperative. These connections may span fixed networks or wireless mediums like Fiber, DSL, WiFi, cellular, or satellite, either individually or in combination. Managing the utilization of these diverse connections efficiently and effortlessly is where S.A.NE steps in. With its unique technology, S.A.NE ensures a highly available connection and optimal throughput, empowering seamless operations.

High Availability and Bonding

By incorporating a secondary connection via an alternative cellular network operator or another WAN medium such as WiFi or satellite, S.A.NE augments the total available bandwidth for even a single TCP/IP connection, thereby enhancing uptime and mitigating potential line failures or network issues. S.A.NE offers a wide array of policies and presets for WAN scheduling, accessible through the S.A.NE Client, enabling users to tailor their configurations based on specific requirements. With its efficient bonding and extensive feature set, S.A.NE facilitates a highly resilient and cost-effective virtual uplink for both mobile and fixed locations.

S.A.NE Technology Options

  1. Seamless Backup: Utilizes different WAN uplinks, with the primary uplink being exclusively used by the running application. In case of primary uplink failure, the system seamlessly switches to the next available interface without disrupting existing connections.

  2. Load Balancing with Seamless Handover: Distributes application data evenly over available WAN uplinks, ensuring maximum bandwidth utilization. Traffic is redirected to alternative uplinks in the event of a failure.

  3. Bonding (WAN Aggregation): Optimal for simultaneous use of multiple WAN uplinks, providing aggregated bandwidth for user applications. S.A.NE optimizes traffic distribution across various uplinks, ideal when a single connection's bandwidth is insufficient.

Additional Features

  • S.A.NE Packet Duplication: Reduces jitter and loss for low-latency real-time applications by replicating packet-flow on multiple WAN uplinks.

  • S.A.NE Bonding Proxy: Optimizes TCP connections, facilitating higher data throughput, especially in scenarios with vastly different uplink characteristics (e.g., Satellite and 4G).

  • S.A.NE Latency Smoothing: Monitors uplink performance and latency, ensuring stable latency by preventing saturation of individual uplinks. Interactive, low-bandwidth streams are prioritized over the fastest link, while bulk traffic is distributed across all uplinks.

Optimal WAN Utilization

Easily augment throughput during peak demand periods by adding additional uplinks to your fixed internet connection. S.A.NE dynamically utilizes these uplinks when bandwidth demands escalate, saving costs by keeping them on standby during periods of reduced demand.

Architecture

The S.A.NE architecture comprises the S.A.NE client and server (relay). The client software, installed on the router (CPE), aggregates all existing WAN interfaces into a virtual tunnel. This tunnel, established via any WAN medium, utilizes the S.A.NE server as a relay to forward data to the inter- or intranet seamlessly.

The following example provides an overview of a common router that sets up a S.A.NE bonded tunnel via multiple WAN uplinks:

Security

The S.A.NE software boasts multiple robust security features:

  1. Certificate-Based Authentication: S.A.NE offers support for certificate-based authentication for both clients and servers. In the event of a router being lost or stolen, it can be promptly excluded from the network in just a few simple steps, ensuring heightened security.

  2. VPN Support: Unlike many other WAN bonding solutions on the market, S.A.NE does not rely on a proprietary VPN to bundle data traffic. Instead, it seamlessly integrates with industry-leading VPN solutions such as IPSec, OpenVPN, and Wireguard, ensuring compatibility and flexibility.

  3. Server Geo-Redundancy: S.A.NE is equipped with server redundancy support. In the event of a back-end failure, clients can be configured to automatically switch between multiple endpoints, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operation.

Management

S.A.NE comes equipped with built-in tools for monitoring the status of clients, gateways, and all active WAN connections. This comprehensive management functionality ensures that administrators can efficiently oversee and maintain the network infrastructure, enhancing overall operational efficiency and security.

Hardware platform

The S.A.NE client software is intended as a hardware-agnostic multi-WAN router operating system and is already available today on the following Teltonika platforms:

  • Teltonika RUTX Series

  • Teltonika RUT 950/955

On the server side, the software is delivered as an Open Virtual Appliance (OVA), which can be installed on a local server as well as in the cloud.
